ANNOUNCEMENTS

During the "off season" the putt4dough organisers are involved in raising funds and supporting the Variety WA Bash.  putt4dough will donate a small sum to help this cause.  However it will remain focused on supporting Perth Childrens Hospital in 2017 by running the next IT Charity Golf Day on Tuesday 21st November 2017.  However to see what is happening with the Variety WA Bash, where we are part of the Mako 72 team, click on this link to see the Facebook page for more details - and if you want to help out with a small donation.

The 2017 putt4dough IT Charity Golf Day will be held on 21st November 2017 so mark your diary.  Registrations are now open.

2016 was yet again an outstanding event in all respects and in particular we have to thank the who's who of the IT industry who represented their respective organisations as part of a new record sponsorship to raise $60,000 for the Perth Childrens Hospital Foundation.  Its an achievement that everyone should be proud of and we will back in 2017 to try to go better again.  Thank You.

Karl Langdon, Scott Cummings, and Josh Kennedy joined us at putt4dough this year to talk about the differences in being part of the West Coast Eagles over three generations of this illustrious club. Two Coleman Medallists and a Premiership Winner brought fun, laughter, mixed with a little seriousness, as well as some insight into a club that has such a great record in the AFL. The evening was full of funny stories, lots of laughter, and something special to remember from three remarkable sportsmen of our time!  Karl was brilliant as our auctioneer and told some great stories with the past Eagles, Josh just came off another successful year as Coleman Medalist, and Scotty flew all the way from Victoria to deliver his great brand of humour and footy insight to the audience.

With Special Thanks to Our Lovely Sponsors

The who's who of the IT industry represented their respective organisations as part of a record sponsorship to raise a record $60,000 for the Perth Childrens Hospital Foundation (formerly Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation).  An outstanding achievement that everyone should be proud of.

OUR SPONSORS

Neryl Joyce - Author, Mercenary Mum, Baghdad Bodyguard

The mercenary mum worked in Iraq from 2004 to 2006 and her “self-belief, courage and a never-say-die attitude” took her from working at Woolworths to becoming a Baghdad bodyguard...but also almost got her killed! Neryl is our special guest this year and will tell us about her inspiring story balancing this extreme experience with a thoughtful and observant mindset.

Records Tumble at putt4dough 2016

34 sponsors, 218 players, and 250 diners.  The most ever raised at the auction, thanks to Karl Langdon.  And the most raised in one year - a massive $60,000.  This adds to the $213,000 raised over the previous 6 years and reflects the generosity and good spirit of the people in the IT industry.  It was good to see the new CEO Denys Pearce attend the event, although we missed Ian De Nazareth.  And our new Community Fundraising Manager, Jessica Bezerra, also a first timer at putt4dough, joined in to help raise the funds this year.

Thanks to the IT Industry, putt4dough raised $30,000 this year taking the total raised since inception to $108,000. Congratulations to Marty, Mark, Rocco, and Dave for their big win. And yes big Merv Hughes was a hit with the crowd. He played 18 holes, gave a fantastic and funny talk, and then mingled with the guests until the late hours of the evening. He carried his team of Justin Scanlan, Glenn Beauchamp, Tony Harris, into 5th place after showing that he can hit a Golf ball further than a cricket ball...by a long way!

New Children's Hospital

History of PMH and a little bit about the new hospital The history of WA's children's hospital dates back to 1897, when a young girl gave threepence to a Perth businessman and said she would like to donate it to the children's hospital. In 1909 his fundraising and lobbying efforts made the girl's wish come true when Perth's Children's Hospital opened to the public, later to be named Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (PMH).
